Ephraim “Frelsari” Monroe, pabbi minn, segir að þetta sé stoltasti hlutinn af þjóðvegi í Trans-Kanada hraðbrautinni. Reyndur hef ég aldrei verið í Kanada--auðvitað fyrir utan fæðingu mína. En ég get enn fundið blóðið úr miklu Norðursléttunni renna í æðum mér. Pabbi minn sagði að ég gæti fundið svona til af því að mamma mín, Myra “Stjarna” Flatfoot, fór á bak villielgnum í fjölleikaflokki Sýningarhringrás Manitoba. En ég held að ég sé svona út af annarri ástæðu… ---- I was born in the back of a big-rig called the "Cat Scratch Fever" somewhere between Regina and Winnipeg. Ephraim "FeelGood" Monroe, my daddy, calls it the proudest stretch of road on the Trans-Canada Highway. I have personally never been to Canada (outside of my birth, of course) but I still feel the blood of the great prarie north coursing through my veins. My daddy said I feel that because my mamma, Myra "Trixie" Flatfoot, was a trick rider of great american elk in the rodeo circuits of northern Manitoba. But I think it's something else... | |||||||
